For 2026, the Ilford Orloff Awards are judged across three distinct sections, recognising excellence in photographic stills, video and media work by independent operators and small crews, and narrative image-making connected to Western Australian stories.
 

Photographic Stills Categories:

The Ilford Orloff Awards aim to recognise and highlight the contributions of professional photographers and videographers from Western Australia.

Fine Art / Creative
Portrait and Wedding
Landscape
Documentary
Wildlife and Nature
Commercial and Commissioned
 

Student Award

The Student Award is open to students formally studying Photography or Videography Certificate IV level or higher, rewarding those choosing a professional pathway.

Video and Media Award

The Video and Media Award celebrates the art of motion, sound, editing and presentation by weaving technical and creative production with compelling narrative for independent operators or a small crew fewer than 5 people.

Ilford's Kym Peacock presents the trophy to "2025 Ilford Pro Photographer of the Year" Johannes Reinhart.

Congratulations to Johannes Reinhart, the "2025 Ilford Professional Photographer of the Year" with his amazing collection of photographic artwork. 

The Ilford Best Print of the entire competition was collected by Carolyn Carson.  

The State Library of Western Australia through their SLWA Manager Heritage and Engagement, David Craddock is again supporting the Ilford Orloff Award by providing the venue for the awards presentation evening and the Ilford Orloff Exhibition which is on display at the State Library until the July 2026.
